We have determined a date for the Sacramento session of the training. It will be on February 11th. We are trying to reserve a meeting room with Sacramento County to accommodate all of us and will inform you of the address as soon as it’s confirmed. If you are interested, please register as soon as possible with Beatriz. She’s back and available to assist you. We will close the registration this Friday (01/31).

Dear Transportation Partners,

In August 2013, we conducted a District 3 Local Assistance Survey to identify training needs and evaluate our customer service provided to our local agencies. You may find the results of the survey in the attached document. The document is a power point presentation I will give to kick off the District 3 Local Assistance 2013/2014 training series. This is a district organized training specifically targeting the top 8 items that our agencies are not knowledgeable about based on the survey. These topics include:
• Toll Credits
• Cooperative Work Agreements
• Timely Use of Funds and Inactive Projects
• Public Interest Findings
• Lump Sum vs Pro Rata
• Indirect Costs
• Audits & Investigations (Guest speaker from Caltrans Audits and Investigation)
• Highway Bridge Program

The training will be a one day training held at the District Marysville office on January 14th, 2014. More details of the training and registration is at the end of this email. We understand this is a relatively short notice and would like to provide another session of the same contents later in Sacramento in February or March. If you are interested in a later session, please indicate that on the registration. The registration deadline for the Marysville session is January 10th, 2014.

I’d like to encourage our local agencies send their own staff to this training. Our team has spent a lot of time preparing and making sure the contents are practical and useful in your daily activity managing federal aid projects. If you have any questions regarding the training, please feel free to contact Felicia Haslem at (530) 741-4156 or myself. For training registration, please contact Beatriz Gonzalez.
